Affiliates Program

The Stanford Neuroengineering Affiliates Program connects the rich research ecoystem of faculty and students with companies and foundations interested in the latest findings in neuroengineering.

Membership benefits include:

• Invitations to biannual research symposium (Fall & Spring) where research findings from neuroengineering labs are presented
• Invitation to annual Winter quarter career fair event where members can recruit Stanford neuroengineering students for Summer internships and full-time positions
• Opportunities to host site visits by faculty and students at member facilities
• Opportunity to sponsor directed research to participating neuroengineering research groups
• Opportunity to sponsor a Neuroengineering Fellow to learn from Stanford Neuroengineering courses and train in Stanford Neuroengineering research groups

Membership costs:

The Affiliates and Fellows progams and are governed by the respective Stanford policies regarding Industry Affiliates Programs and Visiting Scholars. Affiliates may provide additional funding to the program, and all research results arising from the use of the additional funding will be shared with all Affiliates and the general public. An Affiliate may request the additional funding be used to support a particular area of program research identified on the program's website, or the program research of a named faculty member, as long as the faculty is identified on the program website as participating in the Affiliate Program. In either instance, the director of the Affiliate Program will determine how the additional funding will be used in the program's research. Site visit presentations and all information, data, and results arising from such visitation interactions will be shared with all Affiliates and the public. Stanford Neuroengineering will use and develop open-source software, and it is the intention of Stanford Neuroengineering that any software will be released under an open source model. Data generated by Stanford Neuroengineering will also be released publicly no later than at the time of publication or the conclusion of the funded research program, whichever is earlier.
